			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A number of staff have asked about showing online media in their classroom and sadly, many of the sites they use personally are filtered here in <strong>educationland</strong> and sadly I dont have time to support them individually, so here is my online response.</p>
<p>In addition to watching online media you can store, &#8216;grab&#8217; or convert files that you may wish to use at a later date. My favourite solution is to use <a href="http://www.zamzar.com/">Zamzar</a> (but there is also  <a href="http://keepvid.com/">keepvid </a>). Alternatively, grab youtube videos with this small applications you download onto your PC or online, for example  <a href="http://www.download.com/Youtube-Grabber/3000-2071_4-10574801.html">YouTubeGrabber</a> but dont forget you will need a Flash Video Player to watch or display them.</p>

<p>Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch, who is dying from pancreatic cancer, gave his last lecture at his University Sept. 18, 2007.  In his moving talk, Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. Its worth a <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo">watch</a>. Randy continues to <a href="http://download.srv.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/news/index.html">write</a>, inspire and strive for his dreams.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Up until now, I had been waiting until the weekend to write… This week I was determined to hit a half-way marker.  Although its not halfway, there is little to report in just two days.</p>
<p>The Middle Leaders meeting reinforced the need to tidy user areas, noted the use of the IT tech reporting form and general to do. I think this is a good forum for this information but the IT Newsletter is also important.</p>
<p>I have put up some posters telling the students to use F1. Learnt that you need to know more about students then just trying to connect with them. More students are using the ICT resources, but its hardly mass knowledge consumption.</p>
<p>I continue to research how best to develop our ICT curriculum and also how to best serve the school curriculum. The <a href="http://www.tumblr.com/new/" title="http://www.nmc.org/pdf/2008-Horizon-Report.pdf">Horizon Report 2008</a> is out, some ideas in there I hope.</p>
<p>After school football, the students needed a real ‘boot’ up the back side. Not sure I am happy to continue to give up my time for that level of commitment? What are the students expectations? I need to ask them.</p>
